I started sculpture rather late in life. Signing up to make a clay hand at the Cambrian, I was inspired, but with no clay or kiln at home I made a hand of papier mâché. Then, laboriously, a body to go with it. After several bodies filled my studio I realised I needed to work smaller so bought clay and a kiln. I joined a sculpture group that had a model. During lockdown I turned to well-known artists and authors to create 3D figures from their work. There's usually a reason behind my sculptures; a story I've heard or read.
